HEIDI PAN
Heidi Pan, 19 (she/they) at 16, aiming to bridge the gap between aspiring environmentalists (herself included) and established professionals, founded the 1.5 Degrees Podcast. Her work has been featured by the BBC and the Smithsonian. She will be pursuing Environmental Studies at the University of Pennsylvania in August 2025. Her free time is spent hiking and teaching herself the guitar.
RACHEL SILVERMAN
Rachel Silverman, based in NYC, writes to educate, entertain, and connect. Getting her start in children’s media, she’s written television and podcast episodes for Nickelodeon series, including the educational preschool series, Blaze and the Monster Machines. Rachel has also published poetry in the South Hall Literary Magazine and is working on several independent projects. Outside of writing, Rachel can be found seeing live music, meditating, and eating lots of ice cream.
SABRINA TENTEROMANO
Sabrina Tenteromano is a writer and visual artist passionate about sustainability. Believing in the power of art and culture to drive change, she’s worked across publishing, film, and sustainability to amplify voices and causes. With experience in publicity, event production, marketing, communications, project management, and creative writing, she has contributed to both nonprofit and public sectors. Her roles have included producing social impact screenings at Film at Lincoln Center, managing energy efficiency projects for New York’s major cultural institutions, and leading communications at Civitella Ranieri, a residency in a 15th-century Italian castle. She lives between New York City and the mid-Hudson Valley.
TRUSHA NAVALKAR
Trusha Navalkar, 31 (she/her) is a writer based in India. She is passionate about the use of Communications and Storytelling in in a rapidly warming world. She wants to use her writing skills to tell climate stories that raise awareness of climate solutions, bring hope, and galvanise people into taking action. She firmly believes that every story is a climate story. She is putting this philosophy into action by working on her first novel which subtly weaves in the topic of climate change. Through the 1.5 degrees podcast, she hopes to spotlight inspiring people that we can emulate and learn from.
PHOEBE SKOK
Phoebe Skok, 22 (she/they) is a freelance journalist, science writer, and communications professional with a master's degree in climate science and policy from Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Currently based in Southern California though originally from the Seattle area, Phoebe primarily covers clean energy technology, markets, and policy for outlets like pv magazine USA, ESS News, and Latitude Media. She's also a certified LEED Green Associate and budding travel writer. Outside of work, Phoebe spends as much time as possible exploring the world, and they love jumping into cold water, testing new vegan or gluten-free recipes, and doing the New York Times crossword.
MARINA ABELLO BUYLE
Marina Abello Buyle, 26 (she/her) is a journalist, filmmaker, and photographer specializing in socio-environmental issues. French-Spanish by background and raised between Spain and California, she has always had an international outlook and a deep curiosity for discovering new places and cultures. She has a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Geosciences and Master’s in Audiovisual, Scientific Journalism, and Communication. Today, through documentaries and her writing she combines her scientific background and storytelling skills to shed light on the critical environmental challenges shaping our world.
DINESH NADAR
Dinesh Nadar, 24 (they/them) is an India-based communications consultant driven to make the climate crisis approachable, engaging, and useful for the youth to challenge dominant narratives that rely on doomerism to gain traction. They use their writing and designing skills to build narratives shaped by hope and solutions, and are a part of the 1.5 Degrees Podcast to amplify examples of the same in changemakers.

Glenda Trinidad, 28 (she/her) is an advocate for people + planet. She uses her skills in communication to encourage others to action. She is an ocean enthusiast who sees collective action as positive change. Glenda has experience in digital communication such as social media, podcasting, and digital campaigns as a former Climate Communication Fellow at Time For Better
AMILYN FENG
Amilyn Feng, 16 (she/her) is a high school sophomore based in the Boston area. She loves exploring film, philosophy, storytelling, and how humans connect with the natural world. She believes in the importance of climate action and is excited to contribute to a conversation about solutions.
DOM CIFELLI
Dominick Cifelli, 27 (he/him) is a communications fellow with the USDA Climate Hubs, where he develops materials that make forest carbon management and modeling more accessible to land managers and decision-makers. He earned his M.S. in 2024 from West Virginia University’s Global Change Biology Lab, where his research focused on addressing the challenges facing voluntary carbon markets in Central Appalachia.
JACK GOTTESMAN
Jack Gottesman, 20 (he/they) is a creative and independent student based between NYC and Cardiff, Wales. They are pursuing a career in creative science communication. He aims to combine my creative skills in writing and communication with their passion for constant science learning to help disseminate information in creative ways that will be accessible and interesting to the public.

Jay Joshi, 23 (he/him) is an international student from Gujarat, India, based in Sarnia, Ontario. With a Postgraduate Certificate in Project Management from Lambton College and certifications like CAPM and LEED Green Associate, he is dedicated to climate action. He supports the 1.5 Degrees Podcast to amplify sustainable solutions.
JULIA RANNEY
Julia Ranney is a communications and policy professional with expertise in partnership building, policy advocacy, and media production. She has a proven track record of producing and growing podcasts from scratch. One of her proudest career moments was organizing a live recording with the youth plaintiffs from Juliana v. United States. Currently, she produces the Watt It Takes podcast, which highlights entrepreneurs advancing a sustainable energy future. Passionate about storytelling and climate action, Julia works to amplify voices driving systemic change. She holds a B.A. in Politics and minors in Environmental Studies and Hispanic Studies from Oberlin College.
ROBERT GUDEA
Robert Gudea is the founder and executive director of GridEquity, where he advances community-driven energy and environmental justice by combining grassroots advocacy with rigorous technical expertise. He believes communities should have the power, information, and voice to participate meaningfully in energy decisions that affect their daily lives. When he's not working, Robert can be found building forts with his young kids, trying to convince his wife that one more rescue animal won't hurt (current residents include Gengar the bearded dragon and Little Foot the tortoise), cuddling with his tripod dog Zuko, and attempting to find time to finish just one project around the house.
SARAH NEWMAN
Sarah Newman is the founder and executive director of Climate Mental Health Network, addressing the mental health consequences of climate change. The organization reaches young people, parents and educators with research-informed programs and resources to foster emotional resilience. She previously worked in the media impact sector and at nonprofits as an outreach director and community organizer.
SARAH TYRE
Sarah Tyre, 34 (she/her) is an experienced communications professional with over 10 years of combined experience in news media, journalism, corporate communications and public relations. She aims to use her talents to help inspire others to take small (or big) steps towards climate action within their own communities.
